The Kask Protone is aero, ventilated and ridden to Tour de France glory by Team Sky.
Designed and produced in conjunction with Team Sky, the Kask Protone offers aero advantages AND ventilation. Worn and at this year’s Tour de France by overall winner Chris Froome, the Protone absorbs sweat whilst allowing air in, to keep your head cooler.
Protection comes via In-Moulding technology, whereby inner and outer shell caps are joined to prevent the polystyrene shell from breaking into pieces in the case of an impact. That same shell has been beefed up in the temporal and occipital regions of the head to better protect against brain injuries, should a crash occur.
Visibility has been increased thanks to a reflective strip on the rear of the helmet and fit is enhanced courtesy of the Octo Fit system, which uses a rubberised micro adjuster, plus flexible skeletal brackets in the cradle that allow a greater range of fit for more head shapes and sizes.
There are 12 large frontal vents and six at the rear, placed and shaped to promote airflow whilst retaining an aerodynamic advantage. And with a claimed weight of 215g for a size medium, it’s a very lightweight offering.
Features
3D dry: The tridimensional 3D DRY padding utilizes a multi-layer open cell construction process: high technology for the best comfort and performance.
Aero Control: Incredibly aerodynamic and top performing shell, tested in the wind-tunnel and able to provide a really impressive CX rate. Any position the head will assume the outflow of the air will be perfectly in line with the helmet.
Coolmax: Removable and washable inner padding in Coolmax® material
ECO Chinstrap: Chin pad with eco-leather chinstrap
The anallergic and washable chinstrap is extremely comfortable and helps to avoid irritation of the skin
Frame: In the case of a large impact, the Protone frame prevents the helmet breaking into pieces, keeping you safer.
In Moulding: The innovative “in moulding” technology, joining the inner polystyrene cap to the outer polycarbonate one, ensures a better shock absorption.
Multi In-Moulding Technology: The MIT Technology, applied to all KASK cycling helmets, guarantees a higher safety and complete protection thanks to the polycarbonate layer that covers the shell on the top, on the base ring and on the back.
OCTO FIT: Rubberised Micro Dial adjuster provides improved finger grip. Floating cradle contact points combine internal gel pads for optimum comfort. These supports are designed to oscillate freely through 180° allowing a perfect fit on any shaped head. The Skeletal Brackets of the cradle have been designed and refined to provide the best fit and support whilst being as light as possible
Sanitized: Inner padding fabric treated with antibacterial and antimicrobial Sanitized® process.
Visibility: High visibility stickers for maximum safety even in poor visibility conditions
