The pressure dial allows you to retain pressure in the cartridge for multiple tyre inflations; when space to carry cartridges is at a premium, simply inflate the tyre to a reasonable pressure using the manual mode and switch to the CO2 mode to reach your desired pressure, leaving pressure in the canister for subsequent puncture repairs or tyre pressure adjustments.
